San Fermín 2026. The fiesta begins in Spain!

💥 The traditional *chupinazo* (opening rocket) made the city tremble and kicked off one of the most famous festivals on the planet. Amidst an intense heatwave, thousands of people responded with a single shout:

🎆 "Long live San Fermín! *Gora San Fermín*!"

🎉🇪🇸 Pamplona is now living the spirit of San Fermín! 🐂❤️🍷

The honor of igniting the excitement fell to Clint Jean Louis Fernández, Deputy Director of the Navarre Emergency Service, and nurse Araceli Sergio Aguilera, from the Tafalla mobile ICU; together, they unleashed an unforgettable celebration.

🌡️ With temperatures exceeding 30°C, the Town Hall Square buzzed with hugs, music, red neckerchiefs, white t-shirts, and plenty of red wine. ❤️🍷

🚑 Safety also plays a key role: over 300 Red Cross volunteers are working throughout the festival to assist locals and tourists alike, ensuring the celebration runs smoothly.

🍳🌭 Before the big kickoff, the streets transformed into a giant gastronomic festival: *magras con tomate* (cured ham with tomato sauce), fried eggs, *chistorra* sausage, *ajoarriero* (salt cod stew), and long tables packed with groups of friends (*cuadrillas*) starting the day by sharing good food, laughter, and tradition.

📺 Mayor Joseba Asiron set up giant screens at various points across the city so no one would miss the historic rocket launch.

📚 Exactly 100 years ago, Ernest Hemingway immortalized this festival in *The Sun Also Rises* with a line that remains as relevant as ever:

"At noon on July 6th, the fiesta exploded. There is no other way to describe it."

✨ And he was right. San Fermín remains a unique phenomenon: during these days, Pamplona’s population quadruples, and the city becomes an explosion of tradition, emotion, culture, gastronomy, and joy.

💥 El tradicional chupinazo hizo temblar la ciudad y dio comienzo a una de las fiestas más famosas del planeta. En medio de una intensa ola de calor, miles de personas respondieron con un solo grito: 💥 The traditional *chupinazo* (opening rocket) made the city tremble and kicked off one of the most famous festivals on the planet. Amidst an intense heatwave, thousands of people responded with a single shout:

🎆 «¡Viva San Fermín! ¡Gora San Fermín!».

🎉🇪🇸 ¡Pamplona ya vive San Fermín! 🐂❤️🍷

Los encargados de encender la emoción fueron Clint Jean Louis Fernández, subdirector del Servicio de Urgencias de Navarra, y la enfermera Araceli Sergio Aguilera, de la UVI móvil de Tafalla, quienes desataron una celebración inolvidable.

🌡️ Con temperaturas superiores a los 30°C, la Plaza Consistorial vibró entre abrazos, música, pañuelos rojos, camisetas blancas y muchas copas de vino tinto. ❤️🍷

🚑 La seguridad también es protagonista: más de 300 voluntarios de Cruz Roja trabajan durante toda la fiesta para asistir a vecinos y turistas y garantizar que la celebración transcurra con normalidad.

🍳🌭 Antes del gran estallido, las calles se transformaron en un gigantesco festival gastronómico: magras con tomate, huevos fritos, chistorra, ajoarriero y largas mesas repletas de cuadrillas que comenzaron el día compartiendo buena comida, risas y tradición.

📺 El alcalde Joseba Asiron dispuso pantallas gigantes en distintos puntos de la ciudad para que nadie se perdiera el histórico lanzamiento del cohete.

📚 Hace exactamente 100 años, Ernest Hemingway inmortalizó esta fiesta en Fiesta (The Sun Also Rises) con una frase que sigue vigente:

"El mediodía del seis de julio estalló la fiesta. No hay otra forma de describirlo."

✨ Y tenía razón. San Fermín continúa siendo un fenómeno único: durante estos días, la población de Pamplona se multiplica por cuatro y la ciudad se convierte en una explosión de tradición, emoción, cultura, gastronomía y alegría.

🇪🇸 España vuelve a demostrar por qué San Fermín es una celebración que cautiva al mundo entero.
