En un comunicado, el Comando Central de EE. UU. informó que estaba realizando labores de rescate tras el derribo del avión de reabastecimiento KC-135.
"El incidente ocurrió en espacio aéreo amigo durante la Operación Furia Épica, y las labores de rescate continúan", indicó el comunicado, utilizando el nombre de la operación estadounidense contra Irán.
Este es el cuarto avión estadounidense derribado desde que Estados Unidos e Israel comenzaron a realizar ataques contra Irán el 28 de febrero. A principios de este mes, tres aviones de combate de la fuerza aérea estadounidense fueron derribados por error en un incidente de "fuego amigo" por las defensas aéreas de Kuwait. Todos los tripulantes sobrevivieron.
Siete soldados estadounidenses han muerto en la guerra entre Estados Unidos e Israel contra Irán. Hay unos 150 soldados estadounidenses heridos de distinta consideración. El número de muertos en Irán supera los 1300, muchos de ellos civiles e incluso unos 150 niños de la escuela bombardeada en Teherán por un misil Tomahawk de los Estados Unidos.

In a statement, U.S. Central Command said it was conducting rescue operations following the downing of the KC-135 refueling plane.
"The incident occurred in friendly airspace during Operation Epic Fury, and rescue operations are ongoing," the statement said, using the name of the U.S. operation against Iran.
This is the fourth U.S. aircraft shot down since the United States and Israel began airstrikes against Iran on February 28. Earlier this month, three U.S. Air Force fighter jets were mistakenly shot down in a "friendly fire" incident by Kuwaiti air defenses. All crew members survived. Seven US soldiers have died in the war between the United States and Israel against Iran. Approximately 150 US soldiers have been wounded. The death toll in Iran exceeds 1,300, many of them civilians, including some 150 children from the school in Tehran bombed by a US Tomahawk missile.
