La niña cursaba sus estudios en el Instituto de barrio El Carmel y desapareció, según sus padres, cuando se dirigía a su centro educativo. En un momento determinado dejó de contestar mensajes y nada se supo de ella hasta el terrible final.
Se están peritando los teléfonos de la niña y de los familiares para encontrar indicios de por qué tomó tal determinación la víctima.
Se aguardan los resultados oficiales de la autopsia aunque todo apunta a que Sophie decidió terminar con su vida.
No se descarta que Sophie haya sufrido bullying y ciberbullying:
Una de las causas que se investigan sobre el suicidio de Sophie Santos Alves apuntan al bullying y el ciberbullying.
"Son momentos terribles pero es menester esperar a que trabajen los profesionales. Solo así podremos saber qué ocurrió con Sophie y al igual que con Angela en Benalmádena, podamos trabajar en prevenir estas tragedias", dijo el Dr. Javier Miglino Helfenstein, Director Mundial de Bullying Sin Fronteras.

The girl attended the El Carmel neighborhood high school and disappeared, according to her parents, while on her way to school. At some point, she stopped responding to messages, and nothing was heard from her until the tragic end.
The girl's and her family's phones are being examined to find clues as to why the victim made such a decision.
The official autopsy results are pending, although everything points to Sophie having taken her own life.
It is possible that Sophie suffered bullying and cyberbullying:
