La plaza Jean Jaurès, en el distrito 7 de Lyon, empieza a llenarse en homenaje a Quentin. Los primeros manifestantes llegan al lugar, algunos con el rostro oculto por una máscara por razones de seguridad. Temen ser identificados y luego atacados.
La organizadora de la manifestación, Aliette Espieux, recuerda que dio instrucciones a los manifestantes de que sea una marcha en paz.
El dispositivo de seguridad es amplio pero está trabajando tranquilamente. Las instrucciones son que no se coreen consignas partidistas durante la manifestación.
"La marcha por la memoria de Quentin Deranque en Lyon será una muestra importante para el mundo entero. Es posible vencer a la barbarie con normalidad. Si bien nadie quiere ver una marcha pacífica con rostros enmascarados; sea en Buenos Aires, Berlín, New York, Madrid o en este caso Lyon; es entendible que la gente prefiera resguardarse. Son muchos los que nos han dicho personalmente que temen represalias si son identificados y después de lo ocurrido a Quentin es perfectamente entendible", dijo el Dr. Javier Miglino Helfenstein, experto en Derechos Humanos y Protección de la Niñez.

Jean Jaurès Square, in Lyon's 7th arrondissement, is beginning to fill up in tribute to Quentin. The first demonstrators are arriving, some with their faces covered by masks for security reasons. They fear being identified and then attacked.
The organizer of the demonstration, Aliette Espieux, reminds everyone that she instructed the demonstrators to keep it a peaceful march.
The security presence is large but is working calmly. The instructions are that no partisan slogans be chanted during the manifestation.
"The march in memory of Quentin Deranque in Lyon will be an important example for the entire world. It is possible to overcome barbarity through peaceful means. While no one wants to see a peaceful march with masked faces—whether in Buenos Aires, Berlin, New York, Madrid, or in this case, Lyon—it is understandable that people prefer to keep their distance. Many have told us personally that they fear reprisals if they are identified, and after what happened to Quentin, this is perfectly understandable," said Dr. Javier Miglino Helfenstein, an expert in Human Rights and Child Protection.
